Well we are getting closer to Med-Cruise 2001-2002. The Warhawks will soon be out again to do their best to protect our nation, and especially their loved ones, for the sake of democracy.

EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS:

Although our Warhawks are not currently here at home, they are never very far away since we have email. Just remember to keep in mind that the email system on the ship goes up and down, so if your email comes back that may mean that the ships system is down. Check to make sure that you typed the correct email address and just keep on trying to send your email. Eventually the system will be back up again. If you don't have a computer with email available at home, you can always go down to "Connections" on base. They have computers with email and printers available 24 hours a day and it's free. They are located near the bowling alley and base theatre. You can get coffee, drinks and snacks here while you email your loved one. If you have kids, they have a TV and reading materials available to keep them busy. Tickets & Tours, RV Park reservations, and Y-Comm(Phone,Tv,Internet)Services are also located in the same building. For further information you can contact the Hornet Desk at (559) 997-7001.

HEALTH CARE INFORMATION LINE:

If you are unsure about you or a family member needing to see a doctor or simply would like information about an illness, a great resource is the Health Care Information Line, sponsored by Tricare. Call and talk to a registered nurse, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The number is 1-800-611-2883.

FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP:

Cruise time is quickly approaching and I would like to know if anyone is interested in having a family support group started for the up-coming cruise. We had one last cruise. If you are interested please let me know and I will see what needs to be done to get things started and in place before our loved ones leave for cruise.

NAVAL HOSPITAL:

Just a reminder that Naval Hospital Lemoore will be making appointments for Tricare Prime Patient's only. All others will be seen on a space available basis. Also, appointments for all departments are now handled through central appointments at (559) 998-0889. If you are not Tricare Prime but wish to be, stop by the Tricare Service Office in the hospital. If you want to know what benefits you have give the health benefits advisors at the hospital a call and they can find out for you. Their numbers are available through the information desk at (559) 998-4481.
